I could not believe my email when I opened it to find this magnificent painting by Luna. Here is her rendition of Legolas as Tirn-en-Tawar. What exquisite detail in the feathers, the bow and quiver, the hand-made vest. I love the expression in Legolas' eyes; he is strong but has endured much pain; his service to Tawar gives him purpose. The hair is so beautiful, I don't know how she does it. The whole scene is simply breathtaking and just as I see it in my mind. Here is the quote she included in the email:
"Carefully he threaded one into a slim side-lock near his face so that it
fell to the line of his jaw and lightly brushed against him there. The
second he inserted into the binding at the top of his bow, attaching it to a
strip of leather he loosened and retied so that the feather fluttered freely
as he moved the bow, resettling it over his shoulder.
He welcomed his new name and title: Tirn-en-Tawar. [The Watcher of the Great
Wood]"
