Here is another painting by Luna. This is a very young Legolas, just an elfling. I love the flowing hair and the crown of leaves and the way the blue tunic matches his eyes. Look at the embroidery in the top; such rich texture and yet it is very clear these are Wood Elves, not Sindarin royals who dress elaborately and proclaim their status by external signs. I cannot decide if Legolas is sad or merely petulant that he must endure a fussy occasion where he has to be neat and tidy and dressed up. I can imagine he would rather be off playing in the branches than posing for this portrait! Look at that almost-pout on those beautiful red lips. Then again, he could be wistful and very unhappy about something, like he is missing his Naneth who should be in the painting, too, to hold him in her arms.
